Verdagy appoints new Chief Technology Officer to support deployment of green hydrogen technology

Hydrogen technology company Verdagy wants to accelerate the commercial scale of its water electrolysis technology to support the green hydrogen market – and it has appointed a new chief technology officer for the to do.

The US-based company announced Friday, August 20, that it has appointed Dr Saroj Sahu as the new chief technology officer to lead the deployment of its technology to customers next year (2022).

Innovative technology for the economy of hydrogen, Verdagy’s technology combines cells with a large active surface, operating at high current densities nearly ten times higher than those of traditional alkaline water electrolysis.

The architecture of the cell and the selected membranes allow a wide dynamic operating range allowing both load shedding and load saving capabilities, thus reducing the overall energy costs of the system.

Welcoming Dr. Sahu to the team, Marty Neese, CEO of Verdagy, said, “Dr. Sahu is a welcome addition to Verdagy and we are very fortunate to add an incredibly talented and innovative leader.

“His proven track record of inventing, commercializing and scaling technology is exactly what we need right now in Verdagy’s exciting business trajectory. “

Prior to assuming his new role, Dr Sahu founded and served as CTO for Deeya Energy from 2005 to 2011, where he led the development of flow batteries.

Most recently, he held the position of Head of Operational Offering at Xnrgi, where he managed the research and development of a new silicon anode technology and was operationalized as a block manufacturing plant. -batteries in India which starts producing 240 MWh / year of battery systems.

Commenting on his new role, Dr Sahu said: “Verdagy has an impressive and deeply experienced team, tremendous investor support, excellent laboratory and pilot facilities and a truly disruptive approach to business. electrolysis of water.

“I look forward to commercializing and developing this technology and making a real difference in decarbonizing large sectors of our economy. I am very excited to join the green hydrogen revolution.
