As a Researcher, AI and Data Analytics, you will work with research teams and partnerships in the new Enterprise AI and Data Analytics hub. You will be expected to undertake research activities consistent with the College and Hub research strategy. The position will conduct independent and/or team research that has significant impact in the area of their specialization and will be nationally recognized as influential in expanding knowledge of their relevant discipline.
Your main role will be to plan, develop and engage in high-quality research projects that are aligned with the research areas of the College and the Hub. You will integrate research expertise into the life of the College through the development of high-quality, productivity-focused research networks across RMIT and with local and national, internal and external partners. You will be required to engage in high quality research projects, successfully attract research funds and produce high quality results.
To be successful in this position, you will have at a minimum:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Emerging professional experience and recognition of quality research results in the field of artificial intelligence and/or data analytics, which will contribute to the strategic focus areas of the Hub to improve the capabilities of SMEs, as evidenced by the publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding and industry linkages.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
- Ability to network effectively with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate to interact with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

About the hub
The Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub is a newly created research structure within the College of Business & Law. The Hub’s mission is to undertake research in analytics and AI, ensure effective translation of these technologies into various business problems, and provide tailored training in analytics and artificial intelligence. for industry. The Hub will bring together capabilities from across the College, providing companies with a one-stop-shop for business savvy-based AI and analytics capabilities, including areas such as accounting and finance, marketing , human resources management, supply chain, etc. Collectively, our work will advance the communities we serve in realizing a thriving digital economy over the next decade.
As a Hub staff member, you will have the opportunity to work as a team with a range of stakeholders and issues, including opportunities to contribute to the College’s strategic plans and vision.
