The Hot Wheels DLC for Forza Horizon 5 is finally here! Along with a slew of new content, the new DLC also comes with some useful new features that will make playing your favorite racing game much easier. This is especially important when playing races in the Hot Wheels expansion, as this DLC brings some unusual gravity-defying tracks. Among the many new accessibility features, there is also a new artificial horizon. And while it’s certainly useful, some players find it distracting and want to turn it off. In this guide, we explain how to disable the roll indicator.
How to turn off the artificial horizon in Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC
As the developers themselves explained, Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels features “our fastest, most extreme, gravity-defying tracks.” And because of that, they took this opportunity to introduce new accessibility features as well. This includes the ability to turn off motion blur, FOV sliders, stunt steering assist, and roll indicator.
The first new feature you’ll probably notice immediately is the roll indicator. Players also call it “Artificial Horizon” or “Gravity Indicator”. This HUD element is enabled by default when you start playing Hot Wheels. Since Hot Wheels tracks are so extreme and often act more like a roller coaster than a race track, you can sometimes lose the sense of where is up and where is down.
This is where the roll indicator comes in, as it will always keep you informed of your position relative to the horizon. This will help you not to overestimate your position and accidentally overturn your car. However, as mentioned before, some players find it distracting and want to remove it from their screens, especially because it is positioned directly above their cars. If you’re one of those gamers, here’s how to turn off the roll indicator.
- Go to the “Campaign” menu.
- Open Settings.
- Open the “Accessibility” tab.
- Scroll all the way down.
- At the very bottom, you will see the “Hot Wheels Roll Indicator” option.
- Set it to “Disabled”.
