Horrocks Engineers and Blyncsy team up to bring artificial intelligence to our roads

Machine Vision AI will offer LIDAR replacement for cities, local governments and transportation departments

SALT LAKE CITY – March 16, 2022 – (Newswire.com)

Horrocks Engineers is partnering with Blyncsy to deploy the use of AI-powered computer vision on roads.

Blyncsy’s Payver technology and Horrocks insights will enable Departments of Transportation, cities, local governments and other agencies to collect data on critical transportation issues and extend the useful life of their infrastructure quickly and efficiently.

Horrocks currently uses LiDAR technology to scan and monitor roads. However, they will now offer Blyncsy’s Payver technology to monitor assets on highways and roads as an additional option.

This new method of collecting asset data and analyzing the pavement is more efficient than LiDAR technology in many ways. Not only does Payver cost 25% of the cost of LiDAR, but it also only takes 5% of the time. It also saves 66 hours of labor and 2,000 pounds of CO2 per 1,000 miles driven. Blyncsy’s Payver technology uses crowdsourced footage from dash cams that are already inside thousands of cars on our roads. By uploading and segmenting images using machine learning algorithms, Payver is able to automatically detect everything from cracking pavement to degraded paint lines. This artificial intelligence technology is able to detect anything the human eye can see and send information directly to an agency’s workflow, providing clients with a high level of situational awareness about the state of their roads.

Horrocks has surveyed hundreds of miles of state and local roads and is a leader in using new survey technology. This new partnership with Blyncsy is proof of that.

“We are thrilled to partner with a company that is so focused on investing in innovative technology to deliver faster, smarter services to its customers. It’s important to recognize that these types of innovations will give our customers faster access to their data and enable them to make better decisions based on that information,” said Mark Pittman, Founder and CEO of Blyncsy.

This partnership will enable smarter and more efficient transport management for the drivers of tomorrow.
