City of HCM (VNS/VNA) – In 2022, the Information and Communication Department of Ho Chi Minh City will develop artificial intelligence applications in many sectors, such as public administration, transport, health, banking and industry.
In the future, the city department will expand and complete the city database as part of its efforts to become a smart city with e-government, e-business and an e-society by 2025
As part of the plan, a database of all sectors, ranging from housing, transport and environment to health care, will share data between all administrative departments of the city.
The city will also endeavor to develop AI technologies and the improvement of human resources by using AI in education and training and by strengthening academic relations with foreign AI professionals.
The development of AI technology and the provision of tools for the service of digital transformation aim to reduce costs, ensure safety and security in the fields of transport, agriculture, science and health, among others.
The city will also expand 3G, 4G coverage in the city.
At the same time, the department has set up a program to supply smartphones with Internet connection to 58,000 poor and near-poor households in the city.
The city is also encouraging an increase in the number of start-ups, small and medium enterprises and increasing the total investment in artificial intelligence.
Moreover, enterprises are encouraged to deploy the application of artificial intelligence in digital transformation to promote internal strengths and increase competitiveness.
The city focuses on building products and applying artificial intelligence with practical value, making Ho Chi Minh City the center of Vietnam and the region for research, development and application transfer in artificial intelligence./.
