Ben shephard was moved to see her guest on Tipping Point, actress Sally Lindsay, burst into tears during tonight’s episode.
Appearing on the celebrity edition of the show, Sally, who played Shelley Unwin on Coronation Street, admitted she felt emotional after winning the £ 20,000 jackpot.
Sally’s start to play was tough, as she failed to land any markers in the coveted drop zone after a string of wrong answers.
However, over time her luck started to change and she managed to land the huge prize pool of £ 20,000.
Her eyes filled with tears, she explained that the money would mean a lot to her charity of choice – Christmas dinners.
The charity is an annual project for communities to provide a Christmas Day for those leaving care between the ages of 18 and 25.
Founded seven years ago in Manchester, the association now hosts special Christmas Day dinners for young people across the country, bringing positive change.
Thrilled to have raised money for the organization, Sally said, “I can’t tell you how much of a difference this is going to make for my charity.”
She added, “It just gives them hope and it’s very close to my heart.”
As tears formed in her eyes, Sally admitted that she was “getting quite emotional”.
Host Ben looked thrilled to give her the money, as she added, “It’s just phenomenal life-changing money for them.”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, viewers were ecstatic to see Sally hit the jackpot, praising her spirit of generosity.
One said: “Congratulations Sally Lindsay for winning 20,000 for charity!”
