Andhra Pradesh Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan (APPMS) and Rajasthani Sanskritic Mandal, Visakhapatnam organized the camp in collaboration with the National Marwari Federation. Several government organizations have extended their cooperation to the program. Apart from different districts of Andhra Pradesh, residents of neighboring states including Odisha have used the services of the camp.
Vizag South MLA V Ganesh Kumar who attended the farewell said road accidents are the main reason for disabilities. “We should be more careful in our daily life. I appreciate APPMS and Rajasthani Sanskritic Mandal for providing people with free artificial limbs and stirrups,” said Ganesh Kumar.
APPMS President Chandmal Agarwal said it was their third camp in recent years. “This year’s camp was organized in three phases. The first phase focused on the distribution of posters and the dissemination of the initiative to the populations of the different neighborhoods, followed by registration and finally the distribution. Technicians, who came from Guwahati, have fabricated and fitted the artificial limbs to the beneficiaries for the past five days. Some people with disabilities do not know that they can live a normal life by getting these artificial limbs. There needs to be more public awareness. We were happy to see that people from different parts of PA and neighboring states are using the services of the camp,” said Chandmal Agarwal.
